Some programs are inserted into this memory when the computer is manufactured. Even turning off the computer does not delete any information stored in this memory. This is a reading memory. Data can only be read or written from this memory. No change or enhancement can be made in it. ROM does not lose its data even if the computer is powered off. The ROM cannot be updated or modified or modified. The written data in this section can only be read but not written. So it is called Read Only Memory ROM. However, many types of ROM have been invented at present. Through which the saved data can be deleted and new data saved again.

ROMs are of different types such as:

1. MROM - Mask Programable Read Only Memory

2. PROM - Programable Read Only Memory

3. EPROM - Erasable Programable Read Only Memory

4. EEPROM - Electrically Erasaable Programable Read Only Memory
