What is wildfire and why?

Wildfire is one of the worst natural disasters in the world. We use the phrase 'spreading like wildfire' to describe something spreading rapidly.

What is the wildfire?

A wildfire is an uncontrolled fire that occurs over a large area of forest or hilly areas.

Where are the wildfires?

When a wildfire occurs, the fire burns and spreads over a wide area. This fire is not easily controlled. Forests or bushy areas in hot weather areas are more prone to fire.Dry weather, relatively low humidity, drought, and the presence of dry wood and leaves of numerous flammable trees are ideal conditions for wildfires.

Which country has more wildfire?

In Europe, North America and Australia, such forests and scrubby areas are more common. So naturally the incidence of fire is high in these countries.

How do wildfire start?

how does a fire start in such a flammable environment in the forest? Fires can start in both natural and man-made ways. If a fire is started in a flammable and dry environment due to human error, it needs to be controlled at the beginning. Otherwise, it can spread to wildfires. Usually, a fire can start from a campfire, cigarette or picnic stove. Later, strong winds help spread the fire.

One of the natural causes of wildfires is lightning. If lightning strikes a place where there is a lot of dry wood and leaves of flammable trees, it can cause a fire in that place. Then the wind can spread it over a larger area. Another natural cause of wildfires is volcanic eruptions. Lava or ash emitted from a volcano spreads over a large area. Ash or lava can fly into mountainous forests or dry bushes and start a fire. From there, the subsequent wind flow and the presence of flammable materials turn the fire into a wildfire. In every case, the presence of flammable materials and the prevailing wind play a major role in the creation of wildfires. Once a wildfire spreads over a large area, it cannot be easily extinguished. It continues to advance in a terrible all-consuming form. Everything in its path is destroyed by the blazing flames of fire. There is no way to save people and valuable assets except by moving them to a safe place. Although wildfires cause huge financial and human losses, they also have some environmental benefits. The ecosystem gets a chance to start anew after everything is burned to ashes in a wildfire. New grass plants grow from the ashes and the forest gradually regenerates. The soil's nutrients and fertility return. Sunlight reaches the soil that was previously inaccessible under the shade of tall trees, and new life begins to flourish.

Due to climate change, the prevalence of wildfires has been observed around the world, like other natural disasters, in recent times.
