Follow these 5 tips to increase the life of your refrigerator

We depend on the refrigerator to store all the perishable things. We rely on the refrigerator to keep the food fresh and healthy. Therefore, it is important to take proper care of the refrigerator. If you take care of it, the refrigerator will remain good for a long time. Know 5 important tips.

  1. Clean the condenser coils regularly. The condenser coils are located at the back or bottom of the refrigerator and help cool the refrigerant (a cooling agent that absorbs heat and creates cool air). Due to their location, these coils easily accumulate dust and dirt. It is important to clean these coils twice a year to extend the life of your refrigerator. Clean them with a vacuum cleaner or brush. But be sure to unplug the refrigerator first.
  2. Clean your refrigerator door gasket. The gasket is a rubber seal strip on your refrigerator door that provides insulation and keeps cold air in and warm air out. Over time, these strips can wear down and dry out, causing cracks. This can allow more warm air to enter the refrigerator, reducing the efficiency and performance of the refrigerator. Clean the gasket with a damp cloth and soap.
  3. Don't block the vents in your refrigerator. Vents are an important part of your refrigerator's performance, helping to circulate cool air inside the refrigerator. Vents are usually located on the inside walls of the refrigerator and on the top of the freezer. Blocking the vents with food or boxes will restrict airflow. Also, clean the vents regularly.
  4. Don't overload the fridge. Try to keep the fridge about three-quarters full, leaving some space between stored items. Overcrowding the fridge restricts airflow, which can affect the efficiency of the fridge.
  5. Even if there is a minor problem with the refrigerator, have it serviced immediately.
