Don't keep these 8 foods in the fridge

We cook a lot of food at once and store it in the refrigerator. Besides, even if you buy a lot of food, you can keep it in the refrigerator and be safe. However, there are some foods that will stay fresh longer if you don't keep them in the refrigerator. Find out which foods you can store at room temperature without keeping them in the refrigerator.

  1. The cold temperature of the refrigerator breaks down the starch in potatoes. As a result, they lose their nutritional value and freshness. Store potatoes in an open basket outside the refrigerator. They will stay good for a long time.
  2. You don't need a refrigerator to store honey. It stays good outside. You can eat honey all year round by storing it in a sealed jar.
  3. Do not store coffee in the refrigerator. The humidity in the refrigerator can ruin the taste of coffee. Store coffee in a sealed jar in the pantry.
  4. Do not store tomatoes in the refrigerator. If you store them in the refrigerator, their juice will dry out and become tasteless. Store tomatoes in an open container in a place with light and air.
  5. There is no need to refrigerate whole onions. Store them in a dry place at room temperature. In addition to the presence of air, onions will not germinate if the place is a little dark. However, you can store onions in a sealed container in the refrigerator when cut.
  6. Garlic will last longer if you store it outside rather than in the refrigerator. However, make sure there is adequate ventilation in the storage area.
  7. Bread becomes hard and dry when stored in the refrigerator. So, store it in a cool, dry place at room temperature instead of in the refrigerator.
  8. If you keep ripe bananas in the refrigerator, the peel will turn brown quickly. Hang the bananas on a rope in a high place. However, if they are overripe, you can keep them in the refrigerator.
