How to clean a deep freezer easily

Find out how to easily clean the freezer by melting the ice. 

Defrost the freezer
First, defrost the freezer. To do this, turn off the freezer and unplug it. It will take a few hours for the freezer to defrost. Remove all shelves, drawers, and any other removable parts. Once they have come to room temperature, wash them with warm, soapy water and wipe them down with a clean towel. Mixing equal parts white vinegar and warm water and wiping down the inside of the freezer will help remove odors. 

Throw out expired food 
Move food items from the freezer to another location. If you have a lot of food in your freezer, decide what to keep and what to throw away. Be sure to throw away any old food that hasn't expired. If there are large ice crystals inside the food container or a layer of frost on the food, it's wise to throw it away. Use a marker to label the food you're storing with the name and date. 

What to do to melt ice in the freezer quickly? 
If you have little time, you can follow some methods to melt ice quickly. If you want to melt it quickly, use a hair dryer on low heat. Even if you put a pot of hot water inside and close the door, the ice will melt quickly. Take lukewarm water in a spray bottle and spray it on the ice. Then leave the room fan on. The ice will loosen quickly due to water and air. Place a thick polythene sheet underneath. If the ice breaks, remove it. After throwing away the ice, wipe it with a thick towel. Mix vinegar, water, and dishwashing soap together in a bottle and spray it on the inside of the refrigerator. Wet the cloth with clean water and wipe it off. Finally, wipe it dry.

• Never clean cold glass shelves with hot water, as this may cause the glass to crack.
