What to do if there is too much salt in cooking?

You once forgot to add salt to a curry and added it again. What to do in such a situation? You can easily remove excess salt from a curry by following a few methods. Find out the tips. 

  • If your meat broth or spicy curry is too salty, cut up the potatoes and throw them away. The potatoes will absorb the excess salt and bring back the flavor of the curry.
  • Even if you leave a few round pieces of dough, it will reduce the excess salt. Remove it after cooking.
  • Adding sour yogurt to curd reduces the salt content. Many people already use this sour yogurt in curd. It also helps reduce the salt content.
  • If your kebab or roast is burnt or has too much salt, make a raita and pour it on top and serve. To make raita, whisk together salt, sugar, chaat masala, sour curd, mint leaf paste, coriander leaf paste, and mustard oil. 
  • You can balance the salty taste of the curry by adding fresh cream. This will thicken the gravy and enhance the flavor.
  • Even sprinkling lemon juice will get rid of excess salt.
  • If you are making a soup curry, cut 2 tomatoes into 4 pieces. This will reduce the salt content.
  • Chop the onion coarsely and add it to the curry. This will reduce the salt content. You can also add finely chopped onion to stir-fry dishes.
