Cleaning an oily exhaust fan 5 tips

Exhaust fans reduce the stuffiness of the kitchen. However, with regular use, this fan becomes greasy. When it becomes sticky and oily, it becomes slow. You can clean the exhaust fan very easily. Know the tips.

  1. First, take the parts of the fan apart. The top round part can be opened by turning it. If you pull it slightly towards the front, the main part will come off. Apply turpentine oil or kerosene oil on a cloth and apply it to the sticky dirt on the fan. Wait for 15 minutes. Then, use a sharp spoon to pull out the dirt. Finally, wipe it with a clean cloth and put the fan back in place.
  2. You can clean the exhaust fan in another way. Take enough boiling hot water in a bowl. Mix 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of washing powder. Dip the parts of the exhaust fan in it. After a while, scrub it with a scrubber and clean it.

  3. If you clean the fan regularly, the fan will not become excessively dirty. This will also save you from the hassle of opening the fan. Non-alcoholic sprays are available in the market. By spraying them, you can clean the exhaust fan within 5 minutes.
  4. There is another method to clean the fan without opening it. For this, mix 2 tablespoons of detergent powder, 2 tablespoons of vinegar and a few drops of savlon in a cup of water. Then pour it into a spray bottle. Now spray the fan blades with that spray and wait for two minutes. After two minutes, scrub and clean.
  5. If there is too much oil and dirt on the exhaust fan, you can spray caustic chemicals. Then you can scrub the areas clean. If necessary, you can also scrub with a knife or blade.
